Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association

BGMEA - The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturersand Exporters Association is the only representative body of about 2500 manufacturers-exporters of ready-made garments in Bangladesh. The association has been organising BATEXPO once every year since 1989.

BGMEA - the only recognised trade body representing the export oriented garment manufacturers and exporters of the country, registered in 1982, is equipped with sophisticated computerized information systems at its modern offices at Dhaka and Chittagong.

Besides organizing Members to hold or to participate in apparel fairs at home and abroad, some other activities that BGMEA does for its members, overseas apparel buyers and other relevent parties are like establishing and promoting contacts with foreign buyers, business associations, chambers and the like; providing the members, apparel buyers and other information users with various related data; monitoring international apparel trade and trade fairs and disseminating the relevent information through its computer network systsm linked with various online data souces in the USA and EU; organising seminar and symposiums on current trade issues to develop awareness and consensus among the members and other related parties; helping to resolve trade disputes between the members and the buyers.
